Risk Management Master Class
11 -12 July 2018,
London, UK

In the wake of the financial crisis, most risk governance frameworks have proved inadequate for the task. Companies are now required to strengthen their boards and broaden board representation.  At the same time board directors must adapt to the extensive changes to both their regulatory responsibilities and their personal liabilities. The role of the board of directors in enterprise-wide risk oversight has become increasingly challenging as expectations from all stakeholders are at an all-time high. Risk is a pervasive part of everyday business and organizational strategy, but the complexity of business transactions, technological advances, globalization, the speed of product cycles, and the overall pace of change have increased the volume and complexities of risks facing organizations over the last decade. Boards have a difficult task in overseeing the management of increasingly complex and interconnected risks that have the potential to devastate organizations overnight. At the same time, boards and other market participants are under greater scrutiny with increased focus on the effectiveness of board risk oversight practices.

This 2 day workshop will be highly interactive with case studies and board activities. It will cover:

  • Risk Management and Corporate Governance
  • What is required by regulation and codes
  • The role of the board v management in overseeing risk
