GCC BDI 7th Chairman Summit 2019 in collaboration with Tadawul

Our landmark annual event, the 7th GCC BDI Chairman Summit, is set to take place on 20 November 2019.

Held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, this year’s theme will explore the value of ‘Corporate governance – beyond shareholder value’.

The GCC BDI Chairman Summit will examine how to create long-term value within organisations and explore the sources of value creation:

  • What are the drivers of value creation and how should they be embedded in organisational strategy?
  • How can companies avoid the pitfalls of short-termism?
  • How can long-term investor focus help to improve sustainability and meet ESG (environmental, social and governance) goals?

Value creation is the primary aim of any business entity. From a financial perspective, value is often looked at in terms of return-on-investment.  But today’s analysts are looking at a broader definition of value creation and suggesting that traditional methods of assessing organisational performance are no longer adequate in today’s economy.

Value creation in today’s companies is increasingly represented in the intangible drivers like innovation, people, ideas, and brand.

Increasingly, stakeholders, including shareholders, want to know whether a company will still be able to perform well in 10 years’ time – a solid corporate governance framework is critical to cementing a sustainable long-term vision.

Top speakers
At the GCC BDI Chairman Summit, some of the region’s key business figures will discuss the changing dynamics of ‘value creation’.

Jane Valls, Executive Director, GCC BDI, and mistress of ceremonies, will kick off the proceedings as we invite you to explore the world of company value amid hundreds of your regional colleagues and peers.

This summit is sponsored by Tadawul.

The region’s VIP corporate governance event

This year, we aim to build on the success of last year’s Chairman’s Summit, which saw 110 influential business leaders gather in Riyadh to explore latest trends in digital transformation, corporate governance practices and transparency.

Like last year, the Chairman Summit in 2019 will bring together influential chairmen and chairwomen, board directors and C-suite executives from across the GCC region and beyond, to explore the ever-evolving role of boards and the implementation of best practices in corporate governance.

This event is by invitation only.
